Broadcast live with trademark humour and warmth, Woloszyk joined the show straight from the “windy city,” regaling listeners with a light-hearted tale of battling the elements while juggling a hat and a pizza box. But once the laughter settled, it was all about the music — and one song in particular that stopped her scrolling in its tracks.
“I love discovering music before everyone else,” Woloszyk explained, revealing that this week’s pick emerged not from a record label promo, but from TikTok. A short teaser clip featuring a singer dancing effortlessly to their own track was enough to spark her curiosity. “One hook, one vibe — and I had to know more.”
That curiosity led her to Modernlove, an indie pop band from Drogheda, Ireland, formed by childhood friends. The band has been steadily building momentum through relentless touring, loyal fan support, and a sound defined by shimmering guitars, infectious hooks, and emotionally honest songwriting.
The chosen track, Way You Move, comes from Modernlove’s December album. Woloszyk described it as “an instant bop,” praising its irresistible groove, feel-good energy, and a chorus that demands movement. While echoes of bands like The 1975 can be heard, she was quick to note that Modernlove put a distinctive stamp on the sound.
“It’s upbeat, it’s vibey, and it will absolutely make you move,” she said, admitting the decision wasn’t easy. Another track, Licorice, ran it close, but Way You Move ultimately edged ahead.
Woloszyk urged listeners to follow the band across social media and check modernlove.os.fan for upcoming UK and US tour dates, tipping Modernlove as “a band to keep firmly on your radar in 2026.”
With cheers and applause from the studio, the segment closed as Woloszyk formally crowned Way You Move by Modernlove as the Ginger and Nuts Show’s Single of the Week — proof that sometimes the next big thing really is just one scroll away.
