Chicago’s own music expert, Diana Cavazos Woloszyk, is back singing the praises of rising country star William Beckmann. This time, she dives into his latest single, “Not That Strong,” following her initial acclaim for his 2023 hit, “Tennessee Drinking.”

Diana highlights Beckmann’s meteoric rise. Since last year, the young Texan has carved a niche with his smooth vocals and a sound that evokes classic artists like Johnny Cash and George Strait. His 2023 album, “Here’s To You, Here’s To Me,” propelled him to stardom. It featured “Tennessee Drinking” (his fifth consecutive Top 20 hit on the Texas Regional Radio Chart). It launched him on a whirlwind tour with established names like Parker McCollum and Hank Williams Jr. He even made his Grand Ole Opry debut, solidifying his presence in Nashville.

But the accolades keep coming. Just weeks ago, Billboard Magazine named “Not That Strong” a top-five must-hear new country song. Additionally, in a move Diana confidently predicted, Beckmann signed with Warner Music Nashville in August.

Now, let’s talk about the music. “Not That Strong” showcases Beckmann’s signature storytelling in a song about love, loss, and moving forward. Diana, not a country fan herself, is particularly impressed. “The lyrics are incredible,” she says, “They can turn anyone into a fan.” The catchy chorus adds to the song’s appeal.

Diana emphasises Beckmann’s ability to transcend genre. “He has an old soul,” she observes, “and it shows in his storytelling.” This, combined with his powerful vocals and classic influences, creates a sound that resonates with a broad audience.

Despite being based in Chicago, Diana eagerly awaits a Beckmann performance closer to home. She encourages fans to follow him on social media and catch him live on his upcoming tour, which includes stops in Helotes and Rosenberg, Texas

Diana concludes by calling “Not That Strong” her pick of the week and predicting Beckmann’s rise to superstardom. Country music lovers, take note: William Beckmann is here to stay.
