The appearance marked Stimpson’s return to the show—much to the delight of co-host Ginge, who joked that the artist still holds a prized place on his “dog-walking playlist.”

Stimpson was on air to discuss his new single, ‘I Hold On’, a track born—perhaps unsurprisingly—during a late-night burst of creativity.

“I was on my couch at about 2am with a deadline,” Stimpson explained. “I was listening to John Waite and started pulling lyric ideas together. I pictured someone driving alone at night after a heartbreak. It’s a familiar feeling, and I combined multiple breakups—so none of my exes can claim it’s about them.”

Modern 80s Nostalgia

Cavazos Woloszyk praised Stimpson’s distinctive retro sound, noting the authentic 80s vibe laced through his catalogue. Stimpson revealed that while his demos begin with a raw, vintage feel, his producer helps shape them into something modern without losing the essence of the era.

“I want the melody and songwriting to feel like an 80s song,” he said. “I always work with the same sax player, and that keeps the sound anchored in that nostalgic place.”

TikTok Success and a Surprising Audience

The artist has also built a committed fanbase through TikTok—particularly among Gen X users.

“I didn’t expect such a huge Gen X presence,” he admitted. “TikTok has let me put a face to the music. The visuals are so important for the 80s-inspired sound.”

Stimpson streams live every Wednesday, performing covers, previews, and—more recently—his own growing list of originals requested by fans.

A Million-Stream Milestone

With 2025 shaping up to be a landmark year, Stimpson spoke about the moment two of his singles—‘Over Me’ and ‘Back to the Future’—crossed the million-stream mark.

“It validated that I can actually make a living doing this,” he said. “My parents even bought a banner and put it on the front lawn. It made it feel real.”

What’s Next for Reeve Stimpson

The momentum isn’t slowing down. Stimpson confirmed a busy release schedule and touring plans for the year ahead.

  • New single ‘I Hold On’ out now
  • ‘Too Late’ arriving in January 2026
  • A new song each month in 2026
  • Eight-city tour planned for spring and summer
  • Debut eight-track album approaching completion
  • Work on Album Two starting immediately after

The interview wrapped with Stimpson personally introducing his brand-new single, prompting applause in the studio.

“Thank you for having me,” he said. “This is my new song—‘I Hold On.’”
