This new rendition comes courtesy of celebrated saxophonist, singer, and songwriter Patrick Lamb, featuring powerhouse vocalist B. Slade and contributions from producer Sean LaBelle and renowned arranger Maurizio Metalli.

Woloszyk, whose musical tastes range from hard rock to country and beyond, said she stumbled upon the track not through TikTok, but the old-fashioned way — by attending a live show. In late July, she and her husband attended Taste of Orland Park, where she saw saxophonist Lamb perform alongside Jason Scheff of Chicago and Tommy DeCarlo of Boston.

“After the show, I almost didn’t approach him,” she admitted. “But I’m so glad I did. He was so gracious, and when he told me about his new single, my ears perked up like a kid in a candy store.”

Patrick Lamb, a vibrant performer with a career spanning global tours with legends like Bobby Caldwell, Diane Schuur, and Vannelli himself, is one of the youngest inductees into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. His blend of R&B, soul, jazz, and funk has earned him acclaim and a loyal following.

Joining him on the track is B. Slade, a genre-bending artist often likened to Prince for his vocal range and fearless versatility. “B. Slade is an immense discovery,” Woloszyk enthused, noting he has new music dropping on vinyl and CD this week.

Together, Lamb’s smooth saxophone stylings and B. Slade’s velvety vocals transform “I Just Wanna Stop” into what Woloszyk describes as “absolute magic.”

“As a fan of the original, this new version will hit you in all the feels,” she said. “Patrick’s jazzy intro, combined with B Slade’s soulful richness, makes this an absolute gem for your playlist.”

Woloszyk encouraged listeners to follow both Patrick Lamb and B Slade on social media for the latest updates on tours and releases. And for Chicago fans of the original artist, she noted that Gino Vannelli himself will be returning to the city in October.
