Emily Taylor of Birmingham is taking on a daring challenge this June, a charity skydive, in honour of her late dad, who unexpectedly passed away at age 51.
Michael worked for West Midlands Police and had been feeling unwell for a few weeks with symptoms of a cold, and shortness of breath.

Talking to Ginger and Nuts, she said: “My mom and sister have both got autism so they’re suffering quite bad with the post-traumatic stress of it all. My way of coping with grief is not going into a really deep hole.
“My dad lost his mom at the age of 21, and he was very used not having a parent there. He used to talk to me about it, but I’d never imagined it happening to me, and I didn’t prepare myself at all.
“I feel my dad around me telling me to keep going. I know he would want me to carry on being a strong person. And do things for me.

“The skydive is definitely something that I’ve had to bring forward and just do.
“I’m gonna do a tandem skydive, which is probably the best option because then there’s someone to actually push me out of the plane rather than me jump out on my own.
“I’ve never done it before, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and you just have not to shy away from any fears, I guess, and just push forward and do it.
In addition to her skydive at Tilstock Airfield in Whitchurch, Emily is also participating in the Race For Life by running 10k to raise money for Cancer Research in honour of her nan and grandad.
Out of compassion for her dad’s uncle, who is currently facing dementia, Emily is doing a Memory Walk in support of those who are struggling with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.

Emily is taking on these challenges with a smile on her face, in order to make her dad proud. She’s determined to show that when life throws you a curve ball, you can still choose to make the most of it.
Emily is determined to make a difference, and her bravery and courage is something that we can all admire.
Let’s come together and show our support, and donate whatever we can. Together we can make a difference and help Emily reach her fundraising goal.
Let’s stand behind Emily and show her that she can achieve anything!
