After weeks of sifting through tracks that didn’t quite spark her interest, Woloszyk revealed that Instagram provided the unexpected breakthrough. A snippet of June by Houston-born, LA-based rocker De’Wayne instantly caught her attention, leading her down what she described as a “deep dive” into his sound and style.

“De’Wayne blends rock, punk, funk, pop, and soul all in one bold and fluid sound that’s impossible to box in,” she explained on air. “He’s the total musical package we didn’t know we needed.”

Released in July as part of his latest album, June has already been praised for its electrifying energy and distinctive swagger. Woloszyk was equally impressed by De’Wayne’s creative music videos, describing them as brimming with originality and visual flair.

She also highlighted his influences, noting that echoes of Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Nile Rodgers, and Chic shine through, alongside a modern rock edge. But June is more than just a sonic experience – the track embodies what Woloszyk called “divine feminine energy,” representing love, vulnerability, and strength inspired by the women in De’Wayne’s life.

June is a total banger strutting with so much swagger,” she enthused. “It’s got a fantastic hook and groove of a chorus – guaranteed to have you bopping your head and wanting to dance.”

Woloszyk even suggested that De’Wayne might be a perfect future collaborator for glam-rockers The Struts or frontman Luke Spiller.

For now, she’s simply urging music fans to give De’Wayne a listen: “So thrilled with this discovery. Definitely go check out his music on all digital platforms. For tour dates, merch, and more, head to YeahDeWayne.com.”

With June lighting up playlists and Diana’s seal of approval behind it, De’Wayne looks set to command even more attention in the months ahead.
