In an exclusive interview with Ginger and Nuts, Debby Campbell, daughter of the legendary country music icon Glen Campbell, shared heartfelt reflections on her career, the memories she forged with her father, and her ongoing dedication to Alzheimer’s research.

Debby, who joined her father on stage for over 25 years, recalled their cherished moments together. “We spent countless hours bonding as father and daughter,” she said. Growing up apart, their time on the road allowed them to reconnect. “Golfing, playing cards, and singing on stage were some of my favourite memories.”

Together, they not only shared the stage but also recorded duets, including classic songs like “Let It Be Me,” “Little Green Apples,” and “You Are.” Debby fondly recalled, “Those studio sessions were truly special.”

Despite juggling her own solo career, raising three children, and performing with her father, Debby cherished the highlights of their musical journey. “Playing at iconic venues like the London Palladium, Royal Albert Hall, and the Festival Hall were truly unforgettable,” she said. Additionally, performing with country music legends like The Oak Ridge Boys and Don Williams during their Branson residency remains a cherished memory.

With the release of her latest album, “The Way We Were,” Debby pays tribute to her father by recording some of his most beloved hits. “It never occurred to me that I’d be singing my dad’s songs one day,” she shared. Tracks like “Wichita Lineman,” “Rhinestone Cowboy,” and “Gentle on My Mind” make up a significant portion of the album. “It’s surreal, but I hope I’m doing them justice.”

Her latest single, “It Looks Like Rain,” has struck a chord with fans. The song, not originally one of Glen’s, holds deep personal meaning for Debby. “The minute I heard the first line, I knew I had to do it. It resonated with everything I went through visiting Dad at the Alzheimer’s home.”

Debby has dedicated much of her recent efforts to supporting Alzheimer’s research, inspired by her father’s battle with the disease. As co-chair of the Alzheimer’s Association in Arizona and Nevada, she continues to raise awareness and funds to honour her father’s legacy.

Debby and Glen Campbell fans can now listen to “The Way We Were” on all major platforms.

Debby concluded the interview by introducing her latest single: “I hope all of you are having a wonderful day, and please enjoy my new single, ‘It Looks Like Rain.'”
