Returning to her “rock and roll roots,” Diana described the track as a “pop-rock banger” that channels the spirit of The Killers, Kings of Leon, and even Charlie Sexton, all while delivering a sound uniquely Kennedy’s own.

“I haven’t discovered someone new that grabbed me like this since Reeve Stimson or Spencer Sutherland,” she told hosts Ginger and Nuts, crediting TikTok’s algorithm for delivering a Scottish-accented surprise directly to her For You Page. “Just a few days ago, a video pops up with this rocker introducing himself and asking where all his indie rock fans are… and it completely stopped me in my tracks.”

That artist was Sean C. Kennedy, a Scottish-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter whose musical and visual aesthetic — including an album cover featuring his father mid-rock pose in the 1970s — immediately intrigued Diana. What clinched it, however, was a short video Kennedy posted recounting a serendipitous run-in with Sir Paul McCartney in a New York restaurant. “It wasn’t just a wild story — it gave me real insight into who he is as a person and artist,” she said.

Her curiosity led her to Kennedy’s 2024 album Probably Not This Town, where she found not only the energetic title track but a whole suite of “thought-provoking ballads” and genre-blending rock tunes that left a lasting impression.

“This is music you blast in the car at full volume,” Diana said. “Sean C. Kennedy is absolutely an artist to watch — and someone I think everyone should be listening to.”

She encouraged fans to explore his full discography, noting the diversity in his earlier releases, ranging from rock-Americana to indie ballads, all available on streaming platforms and via his website at www.seanckennedy.com.

Diana wrapped up her segment with enthusiasm: “My single of the week is Probably Not This Town by Sean C. Kennedy — right here on Ginger and Nuts. Enjoy, guys!”
