“Oh my gosh, you guys, this single of the week, who I picked, is none other than Shaun Cassidy,” Diana exclaimed on air. “You may remember him from The Hardy Boys. He was a teen idol back in the late ’70s and early ’80s.”

The choice, Diana revealed, came with a touch of serendipity. While sifting through her cherished collection of 45s, she stumbled upon not one, but two vintage Shaun Cassidy records passed down from her older brother. “On one of them—‘That’s Rock and Roll’—he’d even written his name and the date he bought it: October 14, 1977,” she shared. “Almost exactly 48 years ago to the day. I just felt like it was a sign.”

For Diana, Cassidy’s music is more than a sound—it’s a time machine. “Even though I was only eight years old, I remember watching The Hardy Boys every weekend,” she reminisced. “When Shaun began singing, I was instantly captivated. When songs like ‘Da Doo Ron Ron’ and ‘Hey Deanie’ hit the airwaves, I developed a classic case of puppy love.”

Fast-forward to today, and Cassidy’s new release My First Crush has rekindled that same spark. The song, Diana says, “perfectly bridges the warmth of nostalgia with the wisdom of experience.”

Cassidy, who parlayed his pop stardom into a successful career as a television writer and producer—penning hits like American Gothic and New Amsterdam—has never drifted far from his musical roots. With My First Crush, Diana believes he offers a heartfelt reflection on youthful innocence and enduring emotion.

“With his familiar voice and timeless storytelling, Shaun delivers a song that reminds listeners that while the years may pass, the magic of our earliest memories still lingers in the heart,” she said. “For longtime fans like me, hearing Shaun sing again feels like reconnecting with an old friend who helped soundtrack a very special part of my life.”

Cassidy is currently embarking on his “Road to Us” Tour, running through 2025–2026, bringing his songs and stories to fans nationwide. Tour details and ticket information are available at ShaunCassidy.com/tour, and fans can follow him on all major social media platforms.
