Chicago Music Expert Hails “Jenny” by Working Royals as Her Single of the Week

Cavazos Woloszyk, known for her eclectic taste and passion for championing fresh sounds, discovered the band through a short video on Instagram. “If it feels it sounds right, then I’ll be proud to share it with you all,” she explained, adding that the group’s nostalgic yet modern rock sound immediately caught her attention.

Formed by longtime friends Zach Kellum, Ben Finkelman, and Paul Meehan, Working Royals split their time between Vancouver and Toronto. While the musicians have pursued separate projects for years, they reunited to form a cohesive band rooted in their shared love of 1970s and 1980s melodic rock.

Their debut album, Worldwide, released on July 7, features 10 tracks that showcase their dreamy, road-trip-ready sound. Standouts include Chasing the Night and a striking cover of Alan Parsons’ Eye in the Sky.

But it is the group’s latest single, Jenny, that has earned the strongest praise. Cavazos Woloszyk described it as a “vibrant, feel-good song filled with a catchy chorus you instantly want to sing along to.” She noted that the track explores themes of coming of age and self-discovery, resonating with listeners of all ages.

“We all go through a stage in our lives where we are shy and vulnerable,” she said on the show. “As we get older, we show others our light. Jenny captures that journey beautifully.”
