Speaking to Ginger and Nuts, Belle explained the meaning behind the song:

“It’s literally just about moving on from something—or someone. I tend to over-romanticise people, which can sometimes lead to disappointment. But the song is about realising there are better people, places, and things ahead.”

Musical Roots and Inspirations

Growing up, Belle was heavily influenced by early 2000s icons. “I have videos of me with orange hairpieces, singing Avril Lavigne,” she laughed. “Avril and Alanis Morissette definitely shaped me as a kid.”

Today, her playlists range widely, with contemporary influences like RAYE and newcomer LSE Rose sparking her creativity.

Beyond the Music

While Belle is still tackling driving lessons (“definitely scarier than learning guitar,” she admitted), she is also honing her skills on the instrument, believing it will become invaluable to her songwriting.

Her career began early—at just 15, she was performing in schools and speaking about mental health and cyberbullying. Those tours left a lasting mark: “I still get messages from kids years later saying how my songs impacted them. That’s so special.”

Belle’s relatability continues to resonate with her fans. Many confide in her about personal struggles, something she considers a privilege: “It’s a compliment that people feel comfortable enough to talk to me. I’m always willing to help.”

A Hypothetical Hit

When asked which track she’d “steal” without it being a crime, Belle didn’t hesitate: Ironic by Alanis Morissette. “I’ve always loved singing it, and I think the writing is so clever. I’ve always wished it was mine.”

What’s Next?

Fans can expect more new music soon. “I’ve got another single coming out in the next couple of months and some gigs in October, which I’ll be announcing soon,” she revealed. “Hopefully I’ll also be back on CBBC.”
