play_arrowREVIEW – THE ACES Ginger and Nuts
Live on air with the bubbly British hosts, Diana began the segment in high spirits: “I’m perfectly well, I had my coffee with my two little biscuits to dip in, so I’m all good,” she chuckled, setting the tone for an upbeat and enthusiastic review.
Woloszyk revealed that her latest musical gem was a TikTok discovery, proving once again the app’s growing influence on music trends. “TikTok once again helped me discover another fabulous band,” she said, introducing The Aces, an all-female indie pop group from Provo, Utah. The band features sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez, along with Katie Henderson and McKenna Petty.
Formed in 2016, The Aces have carved out a sound that blends synth-pop, disco, and emotional lyricism — drawing inspiration from the likes of The 1975, Paramore, Haim, and Fleetwood Mac.
But it was their latest track, Twin Flame, that caught Diana’s attention. “It opens on a reflective note before erupting into a glitter-gloss disco pop groove,” she described. “The song navigates the bittersweet terrain of not wanting to let go, yet knowing you need to.”
Diana also highlighted the band’s cultural pride: “Half the band are Latina, and the track reflects that heritage with Latin-infused guitar lines and Spanish lyrics at the end. Twin Flame is a proud showcase of heritage and identity.”
Calling it “a total bop,” she praised its dancefloor-ready energy and poignant message about moving on from a love that still lingers. The single is a teaser for The Aces’ highly anticipated fourth album, Gold Star Baby, set for release on August 15th.
The band is preparing to embark on a world tour, kicking off at the All Things Gold Festival in New York City. The tour wraps its U.S. leg by December and hits Europe and the UK in February 2026, featuring special guest Lydia Knight of The Regrettes.
Diana encouraged listeners to pre-save the album and stay connected through the band’s official website and social media. “Go catch them live at a city near you,” she urged. “I mean, how did we discover new talent before TikTok? Thank God for TikTok!”
Before wrapping up, the radio duo cheekily brought up Diana’s recent cameo in a music video by Reeve Stimpson. Laughing, she admitted to filming it solo at home: “I just took out my ring light, programmed it, and did maybe five or six takes. But it was fun, and it made the cut!”
While the video remains a work in progress, fans can expect more from both Reeve and Diana in the near future.
As always, Diana’s segment delivered infectious energy and solid recommendations — proving once again that when it comes to discovering fresh talent, she’s got her finger firmly on the pulse.
