Swapping last week’s synth-pop vibes for something a little more twangy, Woloszyk highlighted “Lonely Over You”, the latest single by rising Texan country artist William Beckmann.
“From the synth-pop new wave last week with the hit ‘Looking for Love’ by The Last Arcade, this week I’m giving you all a bit of country,” she said during the show. “William Beckmann’s Lonely Over You ticks all the boxes — heartfelt storytelling, a melody you can sing along to, and that timeless swagger.”
Beckmann, just 30 years old, recently released his first major label album, Whisky Lies and Alibis, which includes Lonely Over You as well as Not That Strong, another track Woloszyk previously spotlighted in September 2024.
Though she admits she’s not typically a country fan, Woloszyk said Beckmann’s genre-blending style — with touches of blues, rock, and even Mexican influences — has won her over.
“Listening to Beckmann sing in Spanish just proves how versatile he can be,” she added, noting how his music resonates with both teenagers and grandparents alike. In a touching moment, she shared that one of Beckmann’s bilingual tracks brought joy to her late father during his final months.
Describing Lonely Over You, Woloszyk noted its “retro Roy Orbison vibe” and praised the accompanying music video, which she says channels Elvis with a ‘70s flair. “It’s a vintage journey that pulls on your heartstrings,” she said.
Fans can find Lonely Over You streaming now and are encouraged to watch the official music video. More information, including tour dates and merchandise, is available at WilliamBeckmann.com.
