Nestled in the picturesque Northamptonshire countryside, Colready Farm has become a haven for a stunning fold of pedigree Highland cattle. For the first time, this family-run farm has opened its gates to the public, allowing visitors to interact with their beloved herd.
Colready Farm has been breeding over 50 Highland cows since July 2021. These majestic creatures, with their unique characters and endearing personalities, have captured the hearts of locals and tourists alike.
Eager to share the joy and wonder of these Highlands, the family has introduced the ‘Highland Cattle Experience’. This immersive opportunity grants visitors an up-close and personal encounter with these awe-inspiring animals

During the Highland Cattle Experience, guests are invited to hand-feed apples to the incredibly inquisitive and nosy cattle over the fence, capture memorable snapshots with the herd, learn about the breed’s history and characteristics, and even stroke these gentle giants.
Among the fold, one particularly mischievous star stands out – Sandy, a 16-month-old calf. Renowned for his penchant for mischief, Sandy has been known to swipe coats from farm workers and playfully gallop across the fields. His light-hearted antics never fail to bring a smile to visitors’ faces.
Adding to the charm of the fold is their award-winning pedigree Highland bull, King John. Joining the farm in August 2022, King John is known for his calm and placid demeanour. Rumour has it that he can often be scratching himself under a tranquil hedge, offering a delightful spectacle for onlookers.
For those who may feel a touch of trepidation while venturing into the fields, fear not. Knowledgeable staff members are readily available throughout the farm to guide and instill confidence in visitors as they interact with these majestic animals.

Tickets for the Highland Cattle Experience are priced at £15.00 for adults, £10.00 for children aged five to fifteen, and £5.00 for children under four.
To ensure a personalised experience, booking slots are limited to 12-15 people per ticket type. For residents interested in booking a group of ten or more, contacting the farm directly for a special reservation is highly recommended.
Colready Farm welcomes visitors from near and far to partake in this truly exceptional experience. Prepare to be captivated by the charm and grace of their Highland cattle and bask in the beauty of nature’s wonders in the heart of Northamptonshire.
